Francesco Giffoni has expertise in macro and microeconomic analysis, regional development, industrial, and innovation policies. He has conducted several evaluation studies of investment projects in different sectors (transport, urban development, environment, RDI, and space) and European regions. He specialises in the financial and socio-economic impact assessment of investment projects, macroeconomic modelling and forecasting, and the evaluation of policies targeted to small and medium enterprises. He is an experienced econometrician able to use and combine several evaluation techniques for policy evaluation (macro-econometrics, counterfactual methods, time-series forecasting models, scenario analysis, Bayesian network analysis, cost-benefit analysis, theory-based impact evaluation, and others). He boasts teaching experience in public economics and cost-benefit analysis at the University of Milan and is author of several publications in his fields of expertise. Francesco holds a PhD in Economics and a MSc in Public Economics and Public Administration from La Sapienza University in Rome.
